The Task:
This year's theme is: The Life Stand - an architectural installation which is more than a tribune for watching games or events. It is a point of interaction and inspiration for inhabitants and visitors of all ages, interests and social standing, and simultaneously offering an answer to complex architectural and social questions common to many European urban residential areas with its original and well-thought out approach. You can submit a project for realization or approach the subject more theoretically or experimentally with a conceptual solution.

Creole for Housing and Health in Haiti competition banner

The Creole for Housing and Health in Haiti competition will eventually lead to build five housing units in St. Marc, Haiti – a coastal town approximately 100 km north of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince. The uniqueness of this project is the intended key ingredient of the entire process from design, construction through to habitation is 'health'.
The competition is organized by Kay e Sante nan Ayiti and ARCHIVE. The jury panel includes Kenneth Yeang, Zaha Hadid and many other notable architects and professionals from other disciplines.

The design and construction of the housing units should make use of common sense principles which seek to minimize the transmission of Tuberculosis. The competition may raise awareness of housing’s ability to change the way in which society deals with global health. We like to imagine that all those involved in the project will walk away with a newfound understanding of the interconnected relationship between housing and health.

The competition is open to team of multi-disciplinary people (6 persons in one team maximum) or to individuals, registration is open online until October 18th 2010.

The Vienna House of Music is a new type of music school for Vienna that should be an important link between past and present of the city. The building will have to resolve two separate programs, a music school / conservatory and a new public space that is related to the park and the city. The project seeks to link the music and nature through the architecture. The Stadtpark is the chosen site, because it’s importance and because it’s located in Vienna's famous Ringstrasse. The project has the difficulty of being close to the old town and in the middle of a park, at a time that is located along a small canal and two major avenues.
